We have got it! All together! It is a recognition of our efforts in order to improve the English level at our school.

But, have a look at the photo again! It is strange and bizarre to have it on the door of the school. You know why? The rest of BEDA schools have it on their walls, but Purísima Concepción cannot. We are special and different. It can’t be put on our wall due to San Antonio de los Alemanes Church, which is a historical building. We are simply the best.

Moreover, Purísima Concepción was opened in 1651; thus, it is one of the most ancient schools in the city of Madrid. It is ancient but modern at the same time. However, its current building was inaugurated in 1888.

Back in America, he’s considered a hero for the USA and, as a consequence of it, he was awarded an important medal of the US Army. When a person from the White House phoned him to communicate the news, he refused to answer the phone and said: ‘Say I’m working at the time; they must call again in my lunch hour’.
A very charming and healthy woman from Italy has won the world competition Miss Curves.

You can see a boy playing video games at home. When his mother arrives at home, she hears the terrible noises coming from TV, she gets closer to it and she starts crying at the time of seeing the contents of the video game on the screen. This is an advert from the States, which ends as follows: ‘If mothers hate it, you’ll enjoy it so much’.
The marvellous city of Cuenca is visited by an increasing number of Japanese tourists, due to a curious fact: Cuenca is the background of some very successful cartoons in Japan, since its creator loves the city a lot.

The person who founded F.C. Barcelona, in order to have a funny time playing football with friends, was a man from Switzerland called Hans Gamper (with the stress on the last syllable). Later on, Catalan people transformed the original name of F.C. Barcelona’s founder into Joan Gamper (with the stress on the first syllable).
The current Miss United Kingdom, a very nice woman, as you can imagine, has just joined the Army again (her previous job), after being elected as Miss U.K.

Be careful with the Internet! A Chinese citizen died after having eaten a whole packet of salt. It was said on the Internet that it was a fantastic solution to make disappear the nuclear radiation coming from Fukushima, Japan.
Finland’s educational system is considered year after year as one of the most evolutioned and modern educational systems within the world. But, at the same time, many Finnishes commit suicide every year, so… Does their educational system prepare them for after-school days?
Oh, my God! The Chinese governement has been forced to pass a very peculiar law that obligates sons and daughters to look after their parents in case they need it.
The City Hall of NYC is trying to pass a law to forbid the listening of music coming from an MP3 player while you are walking, especially if you are crossing a road.

Rayo Vallecano is the unique Spanish football team that does not represent a city as a whole but a particular neighbourhood within a city (Puente de Vallecas in this case). Rayo Vallecano is playing this season in the Liga Adelante. However, nowadays the most important thing in this club is its female football team. These girls are not only the best football players in Spain but also they are playing the female Champions League with important European female football teams, like Arsenal.

Many French workers have gone on strike, apart from other type of protest actions, because Sarkocy’s government has put the age of 62 (instead of 60) for a worker to retire from job. Here, in Spain, politicians are thinking about increasing the retiring age from the current 65 to 67.
The Democrat Party of the USA, which supports President Barack Obama, has lost the elections of November 2010: now the House of Representatives is leaded by the Republican Party, which includes a particular movement named The Tea Party, but the Senate is still controlled by the Democrat Party. Thus, President Obama will have a lot of difficulties to pass his government’s laws, which will have to be approved by both the House of Representatives and the Senate.
